Are your amber output fixtures comparable to wildlife-certified alternatives?

Yes, the entire NDR Lighting Turtle Friendly (amber) Collection meets the Wildlife Lighting Criteria through their, amber light, long wavelength (>560nm) and full cut-off at 90° plane design.

What specific applications are your products best suited for versus competitors?

Our products are suited for all applications! NDR Lighting offers options for residential, commercial, and industrial applications – practical solutions to fit all customers’ needs.

Are your fixtures designed for under-cabinet use only, or can they be used in other applications?

While we do have products primarily intended for under-cabinet use, our Pinnacle Tape Light Series covers a wide range of applications, including but not limited to: cabinets, shelves, toe-kicks, cove lighting, display cases, outdoor soffits, and many more!

Are your lights suitable for 24/7 continuous operation?

Yes – our fixtures can be used for continuous (24/7) operation under normal operating conditions. The LEDs in our products are rated for a 50,000-hour lifetime. To increase the lifetime, it is recommended to turn off the lights for a period of time each day.

What CRI (Color Rendering Index) do your fixtures achieve, and can they reach 90+ CRI?

NDR Lighting’s products offer CRI values ranging from 70 to 97+, with the majority of our fixtures delivering 90+ performance. For the exact CRI rating of a specific product, please refer to the product page or specification sheet.

Do your LED strips experience dimming at the far end of a run?

By staying under the specific tape light model’s maximum run length, you are ensuring a consistent light output throughout the entire length – mitigating any dimming at the end of the run and voltage drop.

Are these products rated for heavy-duty industrial environments?

Our Vapor Tight products are designed and constructed to withstand against heavy-duty industrial environments as well as the outdoor elements. Their IP66/IP67 ratings, IK10 impact resistance, and powerful lumen output translate perfectly for a harsh and challenging environment.

Are your products resistant to condensation forming inside the lens?

Our WET Locations rated recessed lighting products are resistant to condensation forming on the inside of the lens – as long as they are installed in a closed/covered ceiling or application.

Do your diffusers scratch or discolor over time?

Our fixtures feature durable polycarbonate lenses designed to resist discoloration over time. Surface scratches may occur if the lens is exposed to abnormal contact or improper handling.

Are your products resistant to wear from repeated cleaning?

To a certain extent. To keep the finish of the products, wipe down with a soft cloth periodically and ensure to not use harsh chemical solvents as it may discolour or damage the finish of lens.

Do your products require professional installation, or can they be self-installed?

NDR Lighting prides itself for its products’ ease of installation. Whether it is the spring clips on our renowned Razors, or the wide variety of tape-light connectors, installation has never been easier! See installation guides for further information.

Can your fixtures be used outdoors, and do they experience color shifts in changing conditions?

We have a wide range of outdoor / WET Locations rated products designed to withstand the elements. Look out for the WET Locations icons and IP ratings to determine which products are suitable for the outdoors.

Do you offer tunable white or dominant wavelength options?

Most of our lights are designed with a CCT-selectable switch to allow the user to choose their preferred color temperature. Our RGB Razors, RGB Allure, and RGB Retrofit series offer tunable white control through the Smart Life phone application. We also provide a range of CCT tunable tape light options, as well as RGB-CCT tape light for full color and white tuning flexibility.

How does your product ecosystem compare to full-range competitors?

Each of the products we create, and launch are built with the installing electrician at the center of every decision. Our entire lineup of LED Lighting products offer unparallel quality, from materials selection to assembly craftmanship, from their real-world innovative use cases to their scalable time-saving installation process.

Where can I access your latest spec sheets and installation guides?

All NDR Lighting’s specification sheets and installation guides can be found on the respective product website pages. Installation guides are also included within the product’s packaging.

How do your motion sensors compare to commercial-grade detectors?

Our Motion-detection products use integrated Passive Infrared (PIR) sensing to detect movement up to 6m (19.7’) away. They are also equipped with a time delay of 3-5 minutes to allow for flexibility.

Do your 5000K fixtures produce a harsh green or blue tint?

No, they do not. NDR Lighting conducts extensive testing and quality control on all our products to ensure a consistent, accurate 5000K color rendering. This is further supported by our high CRI ratings.

Are your products tested or verified by independent third parties?

Yes. All of our products are tested and verified by independent third-party laboratories including Intertek, UL, CSA, BACL, DLC, Energy Star, and T24.

How do you ensure consistent color quality across your fixtures?

NDR follows the Energy Star performance criteria to ensure consistent color temperatures within the acceptable range when selecting 2700K, 3000K, 4000K or 5000K for any of our LED Light Fixtures.

For our Pinnacle Series LED Tape Light we recognize the increased importance of uniformity as the LEDs are often exposed and visible either in direct line of sight or on through a high gloss reflection. For our Tape Light products, each of our LEDs are selected from one BIN using the 3-Step MacAdam binning criteria to ensure uniformity in both color and light intensity across the entire of the tape light installed.

What quality standards do your products meet, and how is heat management handled?

All NDR Lighting are tested and certified to applicable UL, CSA, and NOM safety standards. Where applicable, products are also evaluated for performance and energy efficiency in accordance with DLC, ENERGY STAR®, and/or Title 24 (T24) requirements.

Heat-dissipation is part of each product’s trim and housing design, and operating temperatures are evaluated during the safety certification process.

How reliable are your drivers under frequent on/off switching conditions?

Our drivers are designed to withstand frequent on/off switching conditions and remain fully functional irrespective of numerous switching.

How sensitive are your products to voltage spikes, and what protection is in place?

While voltage spikes are unpredictable and can cause damage to internal components, our Pinnacle Series 24V drivers are equipped with an over-voltage protection system – shutting down until voltage returns to normal value.

What is your warranty or replacement policy if a product fails?

NDR Lighting warrants to the purchaser that the products being offered and sold will be free from defects for a period of five (years) from the date of delivery. During this period should the product appear to be defective, NDR Lighting reserves the right to repair or to replace the said defective product. All installation and removal labor costs, transport costs to and from the purchaser, will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

The purchaser will be required to supply a copy of the original product receipt. no returns to NDR Lighting will be accepted without a return authorization from an NDR Lighting representative (customer service department).

Are your products compliant with coastal wildlife and turtle lighting regulations?

Yes, the entire NDR Lighting Turtle Friendly Collection meets the Wildlife Lighting Criteria through their long wavelength (>560nm) and full cut-off at 90° plane design.

Do your fixtures carry formal third-party safety certifications (UL, ETL, etc.)?

Yes. All our products carry formal third-party safety certifications in USA, Canada, and Mexico. For specific details or further clarification, please visit the Electrical section of any product’s specification sheet.

Are your products rated for washdown environments (IP66 or equivalent)?

We recommend our Vapor Tight products for IP66/IP67 washdown environments.

How do I verify that your products will pass local code compliance inspections?

All our products are tested and certified to meet or adhere to the national code.

Is there a risk of overheating if proper barriers or clearances aren't maintained?

Our Recessed Lighting items are IC-RATED – allowing direct contact with insulation or even directly against a joist – without the risk of overheating.

Are replacement modules and components readily available if something needs replacing?

Yes. If components fail or are faulty within the 5-year warranty period, replacements are available. Please contact our customer service department for further information – sales@ndrelectric.com

Are your fixtures compatible with fire-rated recessed downlight housings?

Our patented Fire Rated fixtures do not require additional boxes or modules. We have certification listings with Intertek for UL263, and CAN/ULC-S101 for use in 2hr, 1hr, and up to 45min fire rated assemblies using a minimum of 2 layers 5/8 gypsum; 1 layer of 5/8 gypsum with 2x10” Joists and even 2x8” Joists depending on the fire rated assembly.

Do your smart products support native HomeKit, or do they require a hub?

Our smart products do not currently support native HomeKit.

What network requirements are needed for your smart lighting products (e.g. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi)?

All NDR Lighting Smart Lighting products must be paired using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If a 2.4GHz network is not visible during setup, you may need to enable the 2.4GHz band in your Wi-Fi router settings or contact your service provider.

How seamlessly do your products integrate with third-party smart home or building systems?

NDR Lighting Smart Lighting products can be easily integrated with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings through the Smart Life app. Once connected, you can control your lights hands-free using voice commands through your compatible smart home devices.
